Doll Makeup Tutorial

by Jessica Harlow on October 28, 2011

Hello, gorgeous!  DOLL!

I was running out of time to make another Halloween makeup tutorial before the weekend (besides the fact that I have a couple of videos that I filmed but didn’t get the chance to finish editing! I’ll post them throughout the year!) and wanted to film one last one that could work as a last minute costume. I had done a look really similar to this two years ago but lost all the footage because my computer got a virus/was really old and slow (as is common for PCs! Needless to say, I’ve been a Mac ever since! [RIP Steve Jobs!!! It's almost 4 am as I'm writing this post so I can imagine how scatter-brained I'll seem to everyone reading this!]). Ever since, I have gotten a bunch of requests to re-film this look so I finally did it! And I have no doubt that this tutorial came out better than what the old one would have come out like. (I didn’t have fancy-pants HD cameras two years ago! Gee, the whole process of creating this video has reminded me of how far I’ve come! Of course, none of where I am or where I am headed would have ever been possible without you all watching and supporting me. Words cannot express how thankful I am for each of you. I am forever grateful!!!) All in all, I hope you enjoy this tutorial and find it helpful. I hope it can give you some ideas in case you’re planning on dressing up as a doll for Halloween! Love you all! Off to bed I go!!!

xo Jess

PRODUCTS USED

BROWS:

Illamasqua Cream Pigment in “Hollow” (I use this over the top of my brows to make them look lighter. You can try using a concealer that’s a couple shades darker than your skintone but  a couple shades lighter than your brows.)

Anastasia Brow Pen in “Universal Light Shade” (since it’s a marker, I felt like it’d give a nice crisp, drawn-on effect. Most dolls look like their brows were drawn on with a marker-type thing. At least to me!)

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in “Porcelain” (used it with a flat liner brush to clean up the edges of the brows.)

EYES:

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Lancome Le Crayon Khol in “Blanc” (white eyeliner. You can use a lighter to warm up the product and make it glide on more easily than it did all over my lids.)

88 Matte Eyeshadow Palette (Got mine from BHCosmetics.com a long time ago.)

Shimmery White Eyeshadow

Lancome Artliner in “Noir” (black liquid liner)

Maybelline “The Falsies” Mascara

Red Cherry #103 Lashes (TOP) and #33 Lashes (BOTTOM)

CHEEKS:

Tarina Tarantino Blush in “Carved Rose” (can I just say, how damn cute is the packaging?!)

Brow pencil (for the freckles. Brow pencils tend to have a reddish tint to them, much like natural freckles do. I think I used a Rimmel Brow Pencil.)

LIPS:

Illamasqua Lipstick in “Liv” (Very light, lavendery pink.)

Revlon Color Burst Gloss in “Orchid”
