It’s always refreshing to see a celebrity really getting involved in creating a brand rather than just slapping their names on products. You can always tell what they’ve had a hand in and what was left up to someone else entirely. Carrie Underwood’s Calia activewear line definitely falls in the category of celebrities that care.
I had the fortunate opportunity to be invited to attend the private event last Wednesday where Carrie Underwood appeared to talk about her line and answer questions asked by the lovely, Alicia Quarels. I was so impressed with how detailed and honest Carrie was about really providing busy women with practical and cute activewear. Here’s what you need to know:
It’s not just for the gym!
As Carrie explained, the main goal with this line was to give women apparel they can wear from the gym to running errands and beyond. She went into detail about the fabrics being created from quality materials that dry quickly enough to be able to wear straight from your gym session to the checkout line at the store.
It’s all in the details!
No stone was left unturned from the inclusion of pockets, to the placement of zippers (don’t you hate when you’re lying on the floor trying to do some crunches and all you can concentrate on is the feeling of that zipper cutting into the base of your spine? Yeah, Carrie hates that too!), and even adding some extra length to the back of the tops so that you don’t have to constantly be tugging at them as you’re living your life.
A girl has to have her options!
Carrie made sure to highlight that she wanted to be able to cater to all kinds of women so she and her design team made the effort to consider the importance of being able to mix and match items, to have adjustable ruching on workout shorts so that each woman is able to achieve the look she feels best in, and give enough support in each top so that adding a sportsbra underneath any of the Calia tops is optional.

Calia is a reasonably priced, quality activewear line that will be available at Dicks Sporting Goods in March 2015.
