So, if you’re here, chances are it’s because you just saw my latest video on the pros + cons of using a lash growth serum. I’m going to summarize some of that in this post & also give you some tips on other favorite “lash products” I love whether you use a lash serum or not.
Okay, first thing’s first — The lash growth serum I’ve been using every single night since November 2017 is the Rodan + Fields Lash Boost. I’ve used a lot of different eyelash growth serums in the past. Some were terrible — too irritating for me to use and see results from. Others were pretty slow or hard to get.
What I like about Lash Boost — I can just text (you guys can DM) my bestie, Stef, and order it from her. It’s not irritating to my eyes or eyelids. I only have to apply it once every night before bed & it produces incredible results.
To be specific: I noticed my lashes were getting much longer within 2 weeks and after about a month, I noticed my lashes starting to get thicker. This is common because what a lash growth serum does is strengthen your natural lashes so that they don’t break/fall out as quickly. Basically, it’s slowing down the natural turnover rate so that your lashes can just keep on growing.
If it ever gets to be “too much” you can skip applying it nightly and opt for every other night instead.
Of course, the major con with using the serum is that you have to keep using it to maintain the results you’re sure to be falling in love with. If that’s not your vibe, I would of course recommend false lashes.
I’m into a natural-but-better look when it comes to my lashes. These are my absolute fave from the drugstore.
I used to never curl my lashes until they started growing longer, thicker, and “heavier.” So now, I’m always making sure to curl my lashes. Sometimes, I will skip mascara all together as a little lift can be all I need during the day. Still looking for a good lash curler, but this is the one I use for now.
My two fave mascaras that I thought / think work miracles on any lashes — Lancome’s Monsieur Big. I’m not one to care for high-end mascaras, but this one just does THE MOST for lashes. I have purchased & repurchased it many times over since it came out.
For a drugstore mascara, L’Oreal created the only fiber mascara I actually like. Why do I like this one? Because it’s SO EASY to wash off at the end of the day while still staying put while I’m actually wearing it. I never use waterproof mascaras unless I have to — think pool/beach situations — because waterproof can be too drying. Anyone that’s used fiber mascaras knows — they’re usually such a bitch to remove that it’s not even worth the results. This one is super gentle on lashes which is what I love about it.
& That’s all I’ve got to say about lashes today! I’m such a brows & lash girl. My makeup routine has become stupidly simple since my lashes are longer and I don’t have to spend time fussing with fake lashes and all that jazz.
