One of my “Beauty Resolutions” for 2011 was to get comfortable with wearing my hair up in a ponytail and to just experiment with different hairstyles in general. For years, I’ve always worn my hair the same way – down. Bor-ing. Ironically, when I was a little kid, my mother always put my hair up in a high ponytail. I think that’s why I not only think I look younger with my hair up, but I actually feel younger. (For you older gals, wearing your hair up can make you look like you’ve had a facelift!)
For me, wearing my hair up and away from my face out-and-about is completely outside of my comfort zone. You’re just so exposed! It requires a good dose of confidence. It’s so, “This is me!” But, as I always say – you’ve gotta fake it until you make it. So far, I’ve worn my hair up in public a total of three times so far! You’re probably laughing, but this is a huge deal to me.
Do you have any beauty-related resolutions for 2011? For 2010, mine was to never go to bed without washing off all my makeup first. No matter how sleepy I was! I am proud to report I didn’t skip a single night!
